Summary:
Generally, buildings are designed and constructed by someone other than the owner. Whether the facility staff is new to building management or seasoned professionals, their new building has never existed before. In order to understand how to properly operate and maintain it, they must be appropriately prepared by the design and construction team. In this session, we will hear various perspectives on the breadth of documentation and training required to prepare owners to successfully own, operate and maintain buildings in this age of decarbonization and other building performance goals.

Summary:
Efficient and effective delivery is a necessity in the capital projects world. Too often the structure of project teams has made for ‘strange bedfellows’ with differing definitions of ‘effective’ and ‘efficient’. Performance pressures on projects like infrastructure resilience, decarbonization and inclusion have pushed the use of alternative project delivery methods to meet the changing market landscape for commercial, industrial, institutional and residential projects. This panel discussion shares experiences and insights into alternative project delivery approaches highlighting good points (and maybe some bad points) in the effort to satisfy changing market needs.
